Answer The Call

The Lord kept repeating this phrase to me: “answer the call”. Finally I started researching it in the Bible and found myself in the spot many of us have been in recently, First Samuel.

The new animated movie of King David is a must-see film for all ages. We took our kids to see it however, I only was able to watch it until the Goliath scene. The prophet Samuel was key in Saul and David’s timeline, speaking for God despite the pressures from man.

In 1 Samuel 3, God audibly called Samuel three different times trying to communicate with him. Eli the High Priest encouraged him to answer God directly not knowing Samuel’s first prophecy would be against him. Though the Bible doesn’t say exactly how long it was after this word from the Lord that Eli and his sons died, most scholars believe it was not a long period of time-some say immediately.

“The Samuel Anointing” is found in verse 19 and I impart this anointing to you reading this today! May none of your Words fall to the ground! Samuel, as young as he was (around 10-12 years old) told Eli what God said, even though it very well could have cost him his life.

I was running today and normally I speak a declaration multiple times at the entrance of my neighborhood. Today I spoke it once. Without having thought about this Samuel Anointing, I had a knowing that God’s Word spoken does not need repeating. Like Samuel, our words have power.

One of the great benefits in enduring trials is your increase in authority spiritually. As soon as you become one with Jesus, you have all power in heaven and on earth. God designed this so that we are fully equipped from the start to do great exploits for Him. I do believe however, there is greater influence spirituality for those who have endured. Your Words do not need repeating.

Samuel anointed David as king when he was likely only a teenager. Samuel died before ever seeing his word come to pass. Yet, what a privilege it was to anoint King David who was in the lineage of Jesus. We know all of Samuel’s prophecies did come to fruition. However, it must’ve been hard for Samuel and David in the waiting. David was thirty years old when he became King. King David foreshadowed Jesus and the Bride of Christ operating as king and priest, the only person other than Melchizedek to do this in the Old Testament.

Samuel was a miracle child. From his first prophecy that happened rather quickly, to King David’s anointing that he never saw the fulfillment of, Samuel answered when God called. His words brought purity back into the priesthood to set it up for David to rule and reign.

We often link our obedience to our circumstances. This is true but pales in comparison to the work God is trying to do outside of your life. Your “here I am Lord” obedience has effects into eternity. How could the young Samuel hearing God for the first time know we would be claiming his anointing for ourselves in 2026? “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. [Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬].”
