Eternal Mindset

Over the past several weeks, I've had many somber things that have planted me in an eternal mindset. My two older girls and I, went to a praise service at our church a couple days ago and the message is what solidified a message God is speaking to many of His people right now. The message was simple and direct: our life is a vapor. We must be more concerned with eternity rather than this physical world.

We were driving in a 35 mph zone, and I saw a groundhog scamper across the road. A white car braked and I believe tried to straddle him but ended up running him over. I saw the animal sit up to look at the car. I saw him get run over. In my rearview mirror the groundhog started flailing around unable to walk. Immediately I called Animal Control and listened to their advice not to stop but they took my information and the location of where groundhog was. The next day I called to see if they were able to save him but they did not have a record of anyone going to the scene. I drove by and saw his body on the road.

Earlier that morning before I got out of bed, I had a vision of that groundhog. Its head was up close to mine almost smelling me and it looked so happy. I knew that he was in heaven and the Lord had allowed him to come see me to tell me everything was ok. That didn't prevent me from checking with Animal Control and hoping that he was still alive. Although I am glad he's in heaven, the thought of him laying there with noone to help, dying on the side of the road shook me. I could've stopped. The car could've stopped- it wasn't going that fast instead of taking the risk of running him over.

The praise service was significant for some reason to me. I prepared for it. I got dressed up which I normally do not take the time to do. I was expectant and I knew this particular night would be one for the books. I have a specific prayer request and I was expectant God would answer in a significant way. During worship, a picture came to my mind of someone looking at a stage similar to the Refuge's. I started to question if they were the same place but I know they were not.

A couple years ago, there was another praise service at The Refuge I went to with the same prayer request. The Lord handed me a scroll that night. You can read about that night here. The same keyboard player that was playing that night in 2022 was the same one playing a couple days ago. For some reason this is significant. I had another encounter with God.

I was sitting with Jesus this time visably upset. I do not understand His ways and His timing. In front of us was an angelic being but it looked frozen. The Lord kind of in my mind, asked me what it was. So, I asked Him what it was. I felt in my spirit to stand up and give orders to send this angel on assignment. I did this in my vision and during worship. The worship song's lyrics were something like "all I want is you.”That is the absolute truth. There is nothing more that I want than to be close to Jesus and in His will. Yet, the pain of what that entails I don't understand all the time.

This vision of the angel I can't get out of my mind. Last night the Lord told me to put my phone down and we went back to the encounter. It is really just me staring at the angelic being wondering what it is. I began to see it's wings first. They swirl around like a helicopter. The being was blue at first and in the shape of a dragonfly. I was seeing it now unfrozen but only the wings. They swirled around in deep rainbow colors with stars scattered throughout them. The being came over and landed to our left almost like it wanted me to get in it. Immediately a picture came to my mind of a helicopter pilot. The being's body at this point was more gold than anything but it did have sparkles and color in it. It's interesting how I was supposed to get in the being, not become one with it but there were a couple stairs for me to get in the cabin. It was exactly like a helicopter but it was alive.

During the message at the Refuge, the speaker reminded me of a verse in Revelation where the rainbow encircles Father God's throne. We see in part rainbows here on earth but in heaven they are a full circle. This being's wings made a full-circle rainbow.

I'd like to close this post with encouragement. Daisy and I were driving to her friend's birthday party. A spam call came through I tried to ignore. She answered jokingly and said "Hello gorgeous." The lady on the other end said "You've been promoted." Daisy looked at me and said, 'You've been promoted!" I said, "What?" I was so excited because it was confirmation what I felt before I went to the praise service at the Refuge. We are in a time of promotion. You have endured much and passed the test. You have kept an eternal mindset despite the trials and tribulations.

As I was weeping on God's lap in my encounter with Him at the praise service, He was holding and comforting me but just kept staring at this being. It was frozen. It was cool looking but frankly I didn't understand how that was going to help my specific prayer request. I know that God holds every tear. He is preparing and working everything out for our good despite any losses, despite the pain that we don't understand, despite the years of waiting, despite the disappointment. He is comforting us but He wants you to SEE the new thing that has been frozen but has now come alive because of your declarations. You stayed in faith, you loved steady, and now you will reap the rewards.

If we see that our life is a vapor, the present suffering will help us endure until joy comes.

"whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away." James 4:14

"And He who sat there was like a jasper and a sardius stone in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, in appearance like an emerald." Revelation 4:3

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18

"You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book?" Psalm 56:8

"For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5
