Discernment

2 min read

Last night I was at my son's baseball game and I turned around and saw a cloud. The sky was beautiful. This cloud was flat, not puffy and had almost a silver lining. It looked like a front coming through and I asked if anyone had checked the weather. I knew it was going to rain.

It wasn't until 10:44 that their third game of the night had been cancelled due to lightning and rain. About an hour before, a lady looked into the now dark sky and saw lighting and questioned whether it would storm. I thought "No, I already perceived that earlier and nothing happened." We both attributed it to heat lightning.

God spoke to me riding home Matthew 16:3- "‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times." The Lord showed me in the sky it would rain. He aligned a lady to tell me she thought it was going to rain. However, because I did not see it rain, I disregarded the signs and even my own instinct.

You may have been beliving something for a long time. I want to encourage you that God will send the rain. His Word will not return void but will go forth as intended. When God moves in your life it will happen suddenly. If you're reading this, it is not by chance. Just as the Lord spoke to me that He uses the physical world for discernment, God is reminding you to discern the times. He is moving and it will happen suddenly for you.

Amos 9:13-15 TPT

13Behold, I, Yahweh, make this decree:

The days of acceleration are coming,

when the harvest will be so great

that those plowing the field will overtake

those still reaping the harvest,

and the ones treading the grapes

will overtake those who are planting.

Blessings will stream forth

like new wine pouring from every mountain,

and every hill will flow with favor.

14I will restore prosperity and good fortune

to the captives of Israel.

They will rebuild the ruined cities to live in.

They will plant vineyards to produce their wine.

And plant lush gardens and orchards

to eat their produce.

15And I will plant them in their own land,

never to be uprooted again

from the land that I have given them.

I, Yahweh, your God, have spoken.”
